Doors, skirting and architrave.Across New Brighton and the Wirral.
Doors that close properly, skirting with tight mitres and architrave that frames every opening neatly.

When it's fitted well you barely notice it. When it isn't, you notice every gap, every sticking door and every open mitre. Every day.
Hanging a door properly.
It takes more care than most people think. The door is trimmed to the frame, hinges cut in cleanly, latch and handle fitted, and the whole thing adjusted so it swings smoothly with an even gap all round.
Plenty of Wirral homes have doors painted over and over, or frames that have moved with the house. Where a frame is out of square, the door is fitted to suit so it still closes cleanly.
Skirting and architrave.
Skirting needs tight mitres on external corners and properly scribed joints on internal ones, so there are no gaps once it's painted. Profiles range from simple modern to deeper traditional mouldings that suit period homes in New Brighton and Wallasey.
Architrave frames each door and covers the joint between frame and wall. It's usually done alongside the doors and skirting so the whole room matches.

Questions.
Can you fit a new door into an old frame?
Yes. The new door is trimmed and fitted to the existing frame. If the frame is badly out of shape, Scott will tell you whether a new lining is the better option.
Do you fit fire doors?
Yes, where they're needed.
Can you do a whole house of doors and skirting at once?
Yes, and it often works out more efficient than one room at a time.
